Hitmaker Boss Tony Bucher Keeps Rolling Out The Hits

His name may be unfamiliar to casual music listeners. People in the music industry, on the other hand, know Tony Bucher as a true winner in everything he does.

He’s not just the CEO and President of Hitmaker Services, which has delivered creative marketing to clients like Sony, Universal, Atlantic, Warner, Netflix, Amazon, 300, eOne, and others since 2016. He’s also the founder of New Wave Distro, a digital distribution platform that gives artists and labels complete control over their catalogue and releases while also providing significant marketing assistance.

Prior to that, he was just another Purdue University student. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in business administration, he founded BCForward (formerly known as Bucher & Christian), an Indianapolis-based IT firm. He was so good at his job that the Indianapolis Business Journal named him as one of the 40 top business people in Indiana under the age of 40 in 2004. By 2008, the company had grown to become the largest privately-owned IT firm in the state and the third-largest in the Midwest, with $55 million in revenue and clients including Eli Lilly, Proctor and Gamble, and others.

In 2009, Bucher transitioned to entertainment by launching Gracie Productions. It then grew to become the fifth-largest independent music company in the United States, with clients such as Universal, EMI, MTV, NBC, and others. Artists with whom he and his team have collaborated include Eminem, Lil Wayne, Carrie Underwood, and Taylor Swift.

Tony Bucher is still on the lookout for new opportunities despite his success. He founded Hitmaker Services to find new and unknown musicians, songwriters, and producers and give them the push they need to be the next big thing.

His main motivation is to enable independent artists to compete on an equal footing with major label artists.

I approach submissions with the goal of assisting the artist in monetizing each part of what they send me. I might be looking at sync or a single perspective. I also consider things like whether this would make a good clip, ringtone, or something we could promote on streaming services such as Spotify. So I try to look at each artist’s or producer’s material in terms of how I can best assist them in monetizing that particular song.
